My Soul Mate

"IF YOU KNEW THAT MEETING YOUR SOUL MATE WAS JUST AROUND THE CORNER, WHAT WOULD YOU DO IN YOUR LIFE?”

Two different souls, meet as one
It’s funny how I ask myself the same question when I woke up this morning.  I was lying on my bed having thoughts about my soul mate. YES, what IF my soul mate was just around the corner or what IF I already met him, but didn’t recognize that he was my long lost soul mate. What IF we already did a lot of fun and exciting activities together, but didn’t realize it because I was too caught up doing some other things. What IF he was already sitting right beside me sharing some interesting things and stories about himself. What IF he was the one who’s making me feel this good and happy about myself because seeing a simple yet the most beautiful smile and grin on his face would melt all the troubles away.

I came across with this short description about soul mate from Elizabeth Gilbert:

"People think a soul mate is your perfect fit, and that's what everyone wants. But a true soul mate is a mirror, the person who shows you everything that is holding you back, the person who brings you to your own attention so you can change your life. A true soul mate is probably the most important person you'll ever meet, because they tear down your walls and smack you awake. A soul mate's purpose is to shake you up, tear apart your ego a little bit, show you your obstacles and addictions, break your heart open so new light can get in, make you so out of control that you have to transform your life..."

Now, I start thinking what is really a soul mate? How would I recognize if he was my soul mate? Would he just pop up in front of me like a bubble? I have so many questions going on my mind right now and I guess the only answer to my question is when my soul mate is standing right in front of me telling me, “Hey, I think I’ve met you before…” Funny as it may seem, I remember, I met someone out of an ordinary day, he looked at me and he smiled. By looking through his eyes he was like telling me, “You looked so familiar. Have we met before?” at the back of my mind too, I told myself that he looks so familiar and it seems like I already met him before…

I was hoping that in one ordinary fine day, we would recognize each other when our path crosses again. Throughout our lives we will find one person who is unlike any other. He is someone whom you could talk for hours and never get bored, you could tell them things and they won't judge you. This person is your soul mate, your best friend. Don't ever let them go because they are the ones who were made to spend a lifetime just to be with you.
